About Me
I was born in 2000 in Beijing and later moved to Montreal where I spent my teenage years.
I am currently in Toronto pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Drama, specializing in performance and directing. I have always loved being on stage, performing, doing impressions and entertaining people. I write occasionally and I am hoping to direct more. Jim Carrey and Steve Carell are my greatest influences when it comes to comedic acting; I remember spending hours in front of a mirror, trying to mimic Jim Carrey’s mannerism when I was little. As for dramatic acting, I would say that Tim Roth is the one who influenced me the most. I mean, have you seen his performance in The Legend of 1900? It was astonishing!
My love for music began in 2014 when I discovered Hip-Hop and R&B music. I listened to a lot of Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller and Macklemore. My first song was made on Garageband using an old MacBook Air which unfortunately, does not function anymore (planned obsolescence ugh). At first, my musical style was predominantly Hip-Hop/Rap, in a significant contrast to who I was at that time, shy and a little gloomy — it was like therapy to me. Half a decade later, my musical style has matured and evolved into alternative Hip-Hop blended with elements of trap, R&B and pop. My recent influences are Joji, Kevin Abstract, Clay and Friends, Yeek and Dominic Fike.
In addition to acting and music, I love photography and making videos, and I hope to create more content for my YouTube channel. I also love cooking, working out and biking around the city. I always try to become more eclectic by learning and attempting to do all sorts of stuff; for instance, I like learning foreign languages, trying out new sports, and reading books about philosophy and economics.
I speak English, Mandarin, intermediate French and I am currently learning Spanish, on YouTube. Mi español no es bueno todavía.
I love my mom and my dad who sacrificed a lot so that I could pursue my dream of becoming an artist. 爸爸妈妈我爱你们! I also miss my grandma (nai nai) who was a musician and most likely planted the seed of a future artist in my head when I was a toddler.
